| "The public does not realize
what is involved, either with an unattended death, accident or murder,"
maintains Vidal Herrera, owner and operator of Autopsy/Post Services, Inc.,
a Los Angeles-based private autopsy/forensic and pathology business.
"The ambulance drivers leave and there
is a mess. People ask, ‘Who cleans this up?’ The fire department doesn’t
do it, nor the medical examiner’s office. In small communities, funeral
directors do this or refer people to someone. But in a city where you have
drug overdoses, murders, prostitution related deaths and unattended deaths,
more and more people rely on private businesses and clean it up." |
